Working & Playing in Beautiful Tennessee

Its been over a month now since I last posted a blog, Geni and I have been very busy this past month
Working in a campground here in Pigeon Forge TN. I will try to do a little better on my postings!

We left beautiful Davey Crockett State Park and headed to our home here in Pigeon Forge to spend the summer Hiking in the Smokies. We reserved a few months camping at Alpine Hideaway Campground  and when we got there they offered us jobs. Geni is working a few days in the Office taking Reservations and I have been Mowing the lawns and taking care of the pool.

Camp Host at DAVY CROCKETT STATE PARK Tennessee

Geni and I arrived May 2nd at our destination Davy Crockett Birth place State Park , TN. for the next two months as Camp Hosts. Its a small park with 100 sites but it has an amazing homestead attached to it, with original log cabins, and farm animals. Davy Crockett was born here in 1780 and died defending our country at the Alamo March 6th 1836.

The park has 71 RV sites and 17 Tent sites, has 5 miles of hiking trails and good fishing along the Nolichucky River which runs along the campground. There also is an original Confederate soldiers grave site located on one of the trails. The visitors center has a small but very nice museum and a short movie that tells the History of Davy Crockett.
